This week’s award goes to the Montreal-based group called the Anti-Capitalist Convergence, for pseudo-intellectual moralizing and trying to rationalize the actions of idiots.
The Convergence helped ship hundreds of radicals and anarchists to Toronto for the G20 Summit riots, which resulted in extensive property damage and three torched police cruisers.
As reported in the June 28 Toronto Star, the mouth-piece of the Convergence offered the following defence at a press conference:
“For us it’s not violence,” said Mathieu Francoeur, a spokesperson for the Anti-Capitalist Convergence, a group of Montreal social activists and anarchists that organized buses for about 450 to Toronto. “It’s a means of expression and doesn’t compare to the economic and state violence we’re subjected to.”
To which we say, "Mathieu, go eat some merde and clean up the broken glass your comrades left behind in Toronto if you're so damned concerned with saving the world."
