So far reaction to the Libertas Post site has been overwhelmingly positive. It seems a lot of Canadians really like the idea of a site dedicated to promoting the ideals and values of economic and political freedom.
One extremely generous person donated $500 to the site and sent me an email explaining why:
"Dear Gerry:
There is no place for Canadian conservatives to go online. I think you are really on to something. We need a good online home, and you're the best landlord I can think of. Keep up the good fight!”
Another conservative emailed me writng, “Your website will help fill a void in our country, so that I, and other like-minded folks, won't have to go to American sites such as Human Events, Worldnet Daily & Fox News for our weekly dose of conservative thought.”
It's great to get that kind of feedback!
And it's an honour for me to be part of this exciting new site and I promise to work hard to ensure it provides you with interesting and informative pro-freedom content.
But of course as president of the Libertas Post my job also entails providing a conservative perspective through the mainstream media.
And that's kept me pretty busy.
