According to a Canadian Press report "Michael Ignatieff is preparing to embark on a politically risky 'adult conversation' with Canadians about the painful measures necessary to eliminate the country's ballooning deficit - including the possibility of tax hikes."

Brilliant.

This idea is to political strategy what Kamikaze pilots are to World War II.

...than a lying Harpo.

Of course, spending cuts are preferable to tax incrases as a way of containing the epic debt the Harper Tories have foisted on generations of Canadians.

But its not like we'll get an honest discussion about that from the Harper Keynesians.

What we will get from Harper, should he ever get his majority, is more inflation and more EI premium increases. Two of the most insidious taxes there are.

There are plenty of reasons not to vote for Ignatieff -- but his willingness to talk about actual tax increases to fund the Harper inflation is not one of them.
